About Me
After more than fifty years in Glen Eden, Titirangi and Waitakere, I consider myself a real ‘Westie’.
Doing all my schooling in the area and eventually running my businesses there, I understand and appreciate what makes this area unique. As a businessman I value honesty, integrity and value for money. As a second generation land owner, I have contributed a small fortune in rates to firstly, the Waitakere City Council and later, to Auckland City Council, but have seen little investment by Council into the Glen Eden/Titirangi area. I believe that this area has been seriously neglected by our Council and rates paid by those in this area have been spent elsewhere. This needs to change so that we can make this area a great place to live, work and play.
I would like to see Council wastage reduced and all Council contracts audited. Property owners should have more control over their property and be able to see at least part of the rates they pay invested into their local area. We need investment of our rates into our area to provide infrastructure an opportunity for business and employment for the people out West, starting with improved transport links.
